Delta Police Arrest Content Creator ‘Odogwu of Asaba’ After 20-Year-Old TikToker’s Alleged Rape and Death

The Delta State Police Command has arrested popular Asaba-based content creator, Ifeanyi Ogbonna, widely known as Odogwu of Asaba, over allegations linked to the death of a 20-year-old female TikToker.

According to the police, the young woman travelled to Asaba after the suspect allegedly invited her with a promise to mentor and train her in content creation. Investigators allege that she was sexually assaulted and physically abused after arriving in the city.

Police said the victim later returned home emotionally traumatised and reportedly recorded a video detailing her alleged ordeal before ingesting a poisonous substance. She was rushed for medical treatment but later died.

Following a petition from the deceased’s family, Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, ordered an investigation, leading to the arrest of the 40-year-old content creator. The police said the suspect has made statements while investigations continue to determine the full circumstances surrounding the case.

The tragic incident has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many Nigerians demanding justice for the deceased and calling for a thorough investigation into the allegations. Police have assured the public that the case will be handled professionally and in accordance with the law.
